About Strong Road Capital

Strong Road Capital is a new growth equity firm based in Boston and NYC. Our first fund and founding thesis addresses a structural imbalance in the private markets. We make minority investments in established, growth-scale tech businesses: typically $20–$100 million in revenue, with mature unit economics, 30–100% YoY growth, and scalable go-to-market motion. These are companies the venture market has turned its back on while it chases the next unicorn. We invest in "real economy" businesses that no longer have the decacorn potential underwritten by their initial VC backers, but that have real AI tailwinds and a clear and imminent path to profitability. These are often overlooked "hidden gems" that the rest of the market has stopped looking at. Our thesis has been tested and proven over the last few years, and our proof points keep improving as the portfolio matures.

Strong Road has a performance culture. It is a place for those who believe in themselves and want to be part of a small team of A players. Impatience for mediocrity is welcome. You can expect professional honesty and a high volume of high-quality work from each of your peers. Your voice will be welcome, and expected, from day one.

The Role

We are hiring a part-time Investments MBA Intern to sit with the investment team and drive the top of our deal funnel. This is a sourcing seat first and a diligence seat second. You will report directly to the investment team and work alongside the partners, not several layers removed from them.

Because we are an emerging manager, the companies in our pipeline are ones we find ourselves. There is no inbound flow from a brand name to sort through. The person in this role builds and maintains the machine that finds those companies, qualifies them, and keeps every data point about them organized and current in our CRM. Roughly 60% of your time will be sourcing, 25% infrastructure and operations, and 15% diligence support, though that mix will flex week to week with what is live (i.e., 100% on diligence support during a live deal).

This is a real seat with real ownership, not a shadowing program. The market maps you build and the companies you surface will go directly in front of the partners and into our investment process.

What You'll Own

Sourcing (primary focus)

Infrastructure & Operations

Our CRM is a strategic asset, not just a system of record. Attio serves as the foundational workflow layer for our investment team; the efficacy of our sourcing engine is directly tied to the sophistication of our data architecture. You will own the execution of this layer alongside our Head of AI.

Due Diligence Support

What We're Looking For

Why Strong Road, Why Now

You will be one of the first people to join the investment team outside the founding partners. The sourcing process you help build is the one the firm will use for years. You will see how a fund actually gets built (the thesis, the pipeline, the diligence) from a seat close enough to the partners to learn all of it, which is not something a summer program at an established platform can offer. Interns who perform will be considered first for future roles at the firm.
